Who We Are
...
-
Cross Community Church is a relatively new church in the North Charleston, SC area. (
Why a new church?)
-
We are a church that desires to reflect our community, where all
races and ages are represented and rich and poor sit side by side.
We desire that those who know Jesus help and encourage those who
are seeking Him, and that our desire to share Jesus with others
is revealed in our enthusiasm for missions here at home and around
the world. We desire a church that comes together to fulfill the
Cross Purposes and grows
closer to God. At Cross Community Church, everyone is welcome, whether
you're looking for God, looking for a new church home, or just looking
to visit.
-
Our intent at Cross Community Church is simply to live out the
Christian life as we find it in the Word of God. We are called to
obedience, faith, love and respect, personal growth, and care for
the community in which we live. We seek to strengthen each other
in faith development through worship, teaching, preaching, fellowship,
and service. In line with our personal commitment to Christ-like
living, we strive to express the compassion of Jesus Christ to all
persons.
-
Our doctrines are Biblical and central to living out the Christian
life. Certain issues, such as, the birth, death, and resurrection
of Christ are non-negotiable issues, as are the divinity of Jesus
and the authority of the Scripture (See What
We Believe). Other issues are secondary and should not produce
division within the church. We encourage you to form your own opinion
on such matters and discuss them, but we oppose the attitude that
demands everyone else agree with your view.
-
The Lord's Supper and Baptism are the two sacraments of the church.
We partake of the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of every month.
This is a specail time to "remember the Lord's death until
He comes." We encourage anyone who confesses Jesus as Lord
to participate in this sacrament, however, if you do not we ask
you to please refrain. We also believe in Christian baptism, as
commanded by our Lord, and can arrange a baptismal service if anyone
is interested.
-
We believe small group meetings/ Bible studies provide an excellent
place for you to get to know one another better and grow closer
to God. We are in the process of organizing times, places, and content
for these small groups. Please check back soon on our Small
Groups page to find one that fits you.
